Hello, traveller! When you come to Montreal, you can live comfortably with Hilda and Peter in their house in central Montreal, practice speaking English and French at home every day if you wish, and learn about life in Canada. Hilda teaches English in a school for new Canadians and she will soon retire from her job. Peter has taught folkloric dancing in a community centre for many years. Hilda loves to go cross country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and kayaking and walking in summer in the beautiful big nature parks around Montreal. Peter and Hilda invite the homestay guests to share these activities if they want. You will have your own private bedroom, and will share the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, living room, garden, washing machine and dryer. Hilda and Peter live very close to the Snowdon Metro Station, on a quiet tree-lined street near many convenient shops, cafes and bus routes. High speed internet is included. A professional housekeeper comes one day per week to clean the common areas of the house. Meals are not included (breakfast, lunch and supper are not included) but some basic items -sugar, flour, spices, soap, towels and bedding - are all included. It will be easy for you to buy the foods you want from the shops that are 2 minutes away, and to prepare foods you like in the big shared kitchen. PLEASE NOTE: the homestay fee has 2 parts. One part is the homestay fee you pay Hilda - $750 CAD for each month. You can pay for the first month when you arrive in Hilda's home. hank you. Hilda Smolash
This room is quiet and very comfortable. The window has a view of our large garden. The room has everything you need to help you feel at home. Hilda and Peter share the kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities and garden with the homestay guests.
