You’ll share a 6-bedroom detached house with a multilingual working family of three. Each family member holds a clean Enhanced DBS certificate, enabling us to work lawfully with vulnerable and under-18s. We’re fully insured for hosting, registered with the British Council and AEGIS, and hold a Homestay Host certificate. Our neighbourhood is safe and secure, and our location is far enough from Reading Central, where the daily crime rate is a concern for many parents.
I’m Rodolph, the husband. I’m a French native who speaks English fluently and also practises Italian and a bit of Spanish. I work from home and co-host property rentals. I’m also HR/Employment law qualified and usually available all day.
My wife, Nalini, speaks Hindi, Mauritian Creole, French and English fluently. She’s a registered nurse and a senior clinical site manager for the NHS. Our daughter Meg speaks French and English fluently. She attended Kendrick Grammar School in Reading, one of the best in the UK, and now attends LSE.
As a family, we love the outdoors. We walk and cycle in the lovely Pangbourne area using our electric bicycles from home.
Our home has six bedrooms, two bathrooms, three toilets and a lovely open-sky conservatory perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We’re in a prime location. It’s just a minute’s walk from a large Sainsbury’s complex, gym, Costa cafe, pharmacy, money exchange, Boots, Explore learning, McDonald’s and Ikea Shopping mall. There’s also a 24/7 open gym and other shops nearby.
Just a 1-minute drive to the new M4 smart motorway means we can easily reach central Reading. We avoid the morning rush by taking a 5-minute detour from junction 11 to junction 12. The main Sainsbury Bus stop is just a 1-minute walk away.
We’re also conveniently located 0.5 miles from Theale train station. Direct trains to London Paddington pass through Reading station, and you can walk directly from our home to the station via the IKEA motorway footbridge. Alternatively, a 1-minute walk from the main Bath Road leads you to Reading Central, with direct access via the main Sainsbury bus stop.
Check-ins are from 3 pm, and check-outs are by 10 a.m.
