Hi everyone my name is Daniel, I help my father (Louis) with the online portion of the Homestay. We are a family living in Boston with a 7 min walk to two different subway stations.
We offer rooms to international students who are here to learn English or visit.
The environment is very friendly and we offer a quiet and comfortable setting for our guests.
We treat you like a family member when you stay at our home.
There is a communal room where most students will come together to eat dinner.
There is plently of space in the home, our house is referred to as a "triple-decker" where there are three large apartments with 2 full bathrooms.
We also offer students a fridge to store and prepare food.
Living in the home is the host father.
There is wireless internet, a living room, and a very inviting atmosphere. In total there are 15 rooms in the home and a communal room where students can interact. The host father is originally from France.
There is a laundromat approximately 5 minutes walk from the home, where students can conveniently take their laundry.
We are located on the Red Line which takes 20 minutes to get to downtown crossing.
**We have very few rules, however one thing we have zero tolerance for is drugs (marijuana and any other substance) and alcohol. We have had students in the past who smoke marijuana and even if they aren’t smoking inside, there is a lingering smell on their clothes which disturbs other students and family (family members have asthma and other respiratory issues). Therefore if you smoke marijuana or plan to party, this is not the ideal environment for that.
If you smoke cigarettes it has to be away from the home (not on porches or in your room).
If you are a smoker and this is an issue please be up front about it.
Also we don’t like to have extra people in the house, therefore additional guests are not permitted as we don’t have any information on who they are and we don’t want to create an unsafe environment.
