The neighborhood is mostly residential in character, but you will also find offices, shops, restaurants, and hotels. Carmel Valley's dining scene is a mix of chain restaurants and local spots, with several large supermarkets for those who prefer to self-cater. The Torrey Pines State Reserve, a stunning nature park with hiking trails and beautiful beaches, is located just west of Carmel Valley.
