Potsdam is the capital of Brandenburg and is known for its royal palaces, lakes, gardens, and historic neighborhoods. Nearby highlights include Sanssouci Palace and Park, the New Palace, the Dutch Quarter, Museum Barberini, Cecilienhof Palace, and the charming old town.

Berlin is also very easy to reach. Regional trains from Potsdam Central Station to Berlin Central Station usually take around 25–30 minutes, making the apartment a peaceful base for exploring both Potsdam and Berlin.
