It is located northwest of the city centre, in the area called “Universiteitscomplex”, because it is a campus shared with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. Among the faculties of the RUG that we find here are those of:
It is situated in the city of Leeuwarden, and it is one of the institution's newest campuses. It is located in the centre of the city, in the neighbourhood called Nieuwestad, and there are located all the faculties in that city.
Its acronym means "University Medical Centre Groningen", because the university hospital is located there, and it is where most of the classes of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the RUG are taught. It is located near the centre of the city, in the neighbourhood of Oosterparkwijk.
We suggest you consider the following neighbourhoods to live in:
The old town of Groningen is ideal if you are going to any of the buildings in that area. Here you will find popular leisure places visited by students, so you will also be close to them. From Binnenstad you will also be able to reach the Campus Zernike of the institution.
These two neighbourhoods are very convenient if you are going to the UMCG Medicine Campus of the University of Groningen. They are located east of the city centre, about a 10-minute bike ride from it. Here, you will be able to enjoy several green areas, such as Oosterpark and Pioenpark.
If you are going to Campus Fryslân in this Dutch city, we recommend that you look for accommodation in the picturesque city centre. There you will not only be close to the URG, but you will also be able to enjoy all the leisure activities in the city more easily.
The University of Groningen does not have its own residences in any of the cities where it is present. Alternatively, you can choose between many available private residences that there are (in Groningen there are usually more than in Leeuwarden). However, keep in mind that some residences require that the minimum period of stay is 5 months, so you have to look carefully at the entry requirements before booking.
