The University of Toulouse III Paul Sabatier (UT3) is named after the scientist Paul Sabatier, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1912. It’s where UT3 campus is located. It’s a residential neighbourhood in the south of the city and popular among students for its vitality and friendly atmosphere. It's full of bars and restaurants where you can try the local food and enjoy the ambience. It’s also well connected to the rest of the city by tram and underground, a 20-minute ride from the centre.
This quarter is very close to the Rangueil quarter, next to the University. It’s south of the centre and close to the Canal du Midi. It’s a very well connected neighbourhood to the rest of Toulouse thanks to its proximity to the Gare Saint-Agne train station, very useful to move around the city.
It’s in the east of Toulouse, half an hour by public transport from the University. It’s named after the castle of this hilltop neighbourhood. Although it’s a little far away from the University, it’s a very popular area among young people for its peace, outdoor sports areas and proximity to the centre of Toulouse. It’s a half-way point between the city and the University.
UT3 offers different public residences for students, managed by the CROUS of Toulouse. These student housings offer affordable accommodation for students and there are several options in the area of the university campus itself, in Rangueil.
There are also multiple alternatives of private residences near UT3. In the campus area you can find residences with a variety of services and amenities compared to the public ones. In the neighbourhood of Saint Agne you can also find private residence options.
At UT3 you can study Science, Technology, Health and Sports. They offer programmes in areas such as Biology, Medicine, Chemistry and Sports Science, among others.
Students choose the Rangueil and Saint Agne neighbourhoods for their proximity to the University and the young and dynamic atmosphere. They are also very well connected to the rest of the city by public transport.
Near UT3 you’ll find the University Hospitals of Rangueil and Larrey, where the medical school practices take place; the Pech-David Park, a space with spectacular views of the city; and the Paul Sabatier metro station, which connects the city of Toulouse.
A studio flat in the Rangueil district starts at €560. The average price of a private room in a student flat is €500. The further away from the centre you look, the lower the price will be.
Take the metro line B and get off at the station 'Université Paul Sabatier', you can't miss it! You can also take the bus to the University or, if you prefer to avoid public transport, you can take the bicycle if you live in one of the neighbourhoods near the faculties.
