St Lucia Campus

This is the main campus of the University of Queensland and is located in the St Lucia neighbourhood, about 7 kilometres southwest of central Brisbane. It is a large and beautiful campus located on the banks of the Brisbane River. On this campus, you will find most of UQ's faculties and academic programs.

Herston Campus

This campus is located in the area of Herston, about 15 minutes by transport or bike from Brisbane’s city centre. Is home to the UQ Centre for Oral Health and the schools of:

Gatton Campus

Located approximately 90 kilometres west of Brisbane, the Gatton campus focuses on agriculture, animal science and veterinary studies. It’s true that it is located far from the city, but don't worry about how to get there, because UQ has a free intercampus bus connecting the Gatton Campus with the St Lucia campus in Brisbane.

Here are some of the neighbourhoods that tend to be popular:

St Lucia

This is where the institution’s main campus is located, the St Lucia Campus, so it's an obvious choice for those who want to be within walking or cycling distance of the university. St Lucia is a leafy, residential area with a mix of student accommodation and family homes. It is also home to some local shops and restaurants.

Toowong

Toowong is another suburb close to UQ and is connected to campus by public transport. There are some shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as green areas such as the Anzac Park and the Toowong Memorial Park. From Toowong, you can get to the centre of Brisbane in about 10 minutes by bike or public transport.

Herston

As the name suggests, this neighbourhood is ideal if you are going to go to the institution’s Herston Campus. The area has student housing options and nearby medical services. You're also just a short public transport ride from central Brisbane, giving you access to restaurants, shops and cultural activities.

The institution has halls of residence at the St Lucia Campus and the Gatton Campus, so you can apply for a place in one of them.
