For nature lovers, the Delftse Hout forest has beautiful views of greenery that allow a pleasant walk and is located near the university campus.

If you want to go out to drink and eat some snacks in a bar you can spend between 10 and 15 euros. For example, the Rat & Tiger is the perfect place to spend your free time in Delft. This bar has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with people from all over Europe gathering for a relaxed afternoon of pizza and drinks.

Culture and gastronomy in Delft, the Netherlands

Doerak or De Ruif, the main street and the centre of Delft is a good place to eat in a Dutch restaurant. The culinary specialities of the city of Delft are round tomatoes and Hamburgreis (Mashed potatoes). Dutch cuisine has simple but essential ingredients such as potatoes, bacon, meat or fish, and salads. Most establishments offer both vegetarian and traditional dishes. The meat is very cheap here compared to Spain, the prices are quite cheap: a steak or a fillet costs between 4 and 5 euros in restaurants and the menus (homemade food) are around € 10.

It is located in the historic centre of the city and is more than 700 years old. The visit is always free and can be easily reached from where you stay. 

For your photoshoots, visit the EYE facility, an open-air museum. Here you can take pictures of the city's river, the Canal Mayor and other representative buildings. In winter you can even skate on the city canal.
