The surrounding area - Ammoudara

Amoudara is a huge beach 7 km west of Heraklion, which led to the tourism development of the entire region. The options here are many, especially in the summer. Swimming and water sports on the well-organized beach, and quiet corners for the more solitary. Coffee, drink or eat literally on the beach is an experience. At night restaurants, cafes, restaurants bars, and clubs are at your disposal until the early hours. But also the surrounding area of exceptional interest. The sources of Almyros river nearby, forming the largest habitat of the area. The gorge of the Three Churches will delight peripatites and beyond.
