Where is Copenhagen University located?

It has four main campuses in total, three in Copenhagen and one in the Frederiksberg area. They are the following:

North Campus (Nørre Campus)

As its name indicates, it is located north of the centre of Copenhagen, between the districts of Nørrebro and Østerbro and next to the large Fælledparken park. It contains most of the faculties of:

City Campus

This district is part of the city of Copenhagen, and it is located to the west of the city centre. You will be able to reach it easily, both by bicycle, on foot or by public transport. Here are also part of the faculties of:

Best neighbourhoods to live in near the UCPH

We suggest you consider these neighbourhoods to live near the University of Copenhagen:

Nørrebro

This is one of the preferred neighbourhoods by students who go to Copenhagen for a while. It is full of bars and restaurants frequented by young people, as well as bars and other trendy places. In Nørrebro you will be close to the North Campus of the university, and you will have a good connection with the other campuses of the institution.

Frederiksberg

This area is ideal mainly if you are going to the Frederiksberg Campus of the UCPH. It tends to have slightly more affordable accommodation prices than central Copenhagen, and it is a more residential area.

Amagerbro

This district is very convenient for young people who are going to the Søndre Campus of the University. It is south of the centre of the Danish capital and, being the home of this campus, it has many leisure and dining venues for students. Here you can enjoy walks along the river and reach the centre of Copenhagen in about 10 minutes by bike.

Student residences near the UCPH

The University of Copenhagen does not have residence halls, but there are numerous private student residences in different parts of the city. You have to take a good look at the facilities and characteristics they have since they can be studio-type accommodations or rooms in shared flats within the same residence. Also, remember to find out if the expenses of the invoices are included in the monthly price or if you have to add something extra at the end of each month.

Erasmus in Copenhagen University

Keep the following details in mind during your mobility:

• If you are going to be at this institution during the spring, you are going to have the opportunity to be a part of the “UCPH Festival” or “KU Festival”. It takes place at the Nørre Campus, and it is a day in which stages, bars, food trucks and dozens of different activities are installed. It is estimated that 15,000 students go every year. You will surely have a great time with your friends!

• All students at the University of Copenhagen can go to the student house, called “Studenterhuset”, to enjoy many events, parties and activities. It is a place where you can meet other young people in a sociable and fun environment.

• You will most likely get a second-hand bike during your stay, so you can move from one place to another like a local. It is one of the cities with the best bike connection in the world, and the majority of the population chooses to move that way.
