Where is the University of Southern Denmark located?

This university is divided into six campuses:

Odense Campus

Located on the island of Funen, this is the main campus and is situated on the outskirts of Odense, in the area known as Odense M. Classes are held in the five faculties of the institution, which are:

Copenhagen Campus

This campus is located in the Danish capital, in the historic district called Middelalderbyen. Best neighbourhoods to live in near the SDU

The following are some of the neighbourhoods you may consider:

Odense M and Odense C

These two neighbourhoods in Odense have different advantages. On one hand, the Odense M campus of SDU is in Odense M, so living there will allow you to be close to the institution. On the other hand, from Odense C (the city centre) you can reach that campus in about 15 minutes by tram, so you will also be close to it. Additionally, in Odense C you will be closer to the leisure spots frequented by young people.

Indre By (Copenhagen)

This neighbourhood is the centre of the Danish capital and is one of the liveliest areas of the city. It has many leisure and dining options, as well as being home to many of the most visited places of interest by students and tourists. Here, specifically in the Middelalderbyen area, is the Copenhagen Campus of SDU, so it is ideal for young people who are going there.

Downtown Slagelse, Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg

The campuses located in these Danish cities are in central neighbourhoods, so living in that area is ideal to be close to them. In addition, being small cities, you will also have easy access to the leisure and dining spots frequented by students.

The institution offers accommodation for international students in four out of its five locations. You can choose between a room that is part of the student residences (called "kollegium"), a room that is part of a private apartment or house, or a complete apartment for yourself or to share

Erasmus in the University of Southern Denmark

  • The SDU organises Orientation Days, usually two days before the start of classes each semester. We suggest that you take part in them so that you can make your arrival at the university and the city easier.
  • If you are going to be at the institution in October, you will be able to attend the Annual University Celebration that takes place at the Odense Campus.
