UNIPA is made up of a main campus and some buildings scattered around Palermo. The campus is located southwest of the historic centre, between the neighbourhoods of Cuba-Calatafimi and Montegrappa. Most of its buildings extend along the street called Viale delle Scienze. It’ll take around 20 minutes to walk to it from the city centre.

The departments related to Medicine are located in Oreto-Perez, on the south side of the historical quarter. The Paolo Giaccone Polyclinic University is also located there.
For their part, the departments of Legal and Economic-Social Sciences, and Political Sciences and International Relations are located in the centre of Palermo, in a beautiful old building in the Albergheria neighbourhood.
The Italian Language School for Foreigners (Scuola di Lingua Italiana per Stranieri) is in the Piazza Sant'Antonio, very close to the Palermo central train station. There they teach Italian courses for international students, very useful to perfect and improve your Italian!

This neighbourhood you’ll find the main campus, the department buildings in the area and those of the branch of Medicine. Albergheria is part of the historic centre of the city, so its streets are very busy and full of bars and restaurants with traditional Italian food.
It’s also in the heart of the city of Palermo, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Very close to Kalsa are the Albergheria department buildings and those of the subcampus of Via Archirafi. This area is famous for the Abatellis palace's Renaissance art and the mosaics of the Church of Santa Maria dell’Ammireglio. Also, another interesting detail for newcomers: at night its streets welcome hundreds of young people in the most popular bars in the area.
This neighbourhood is located south of the city, about twenty minutes walk to the historic centre. In Oreto-Perez the department of Medicine is found. Being a little further from the centre, it’s a quieter area. In addition, the accommodations generally have more affordable prices than those in the centre of Palermo.
The Government of Palermo makes available to international students places in the city's public residences. They have locations both in the centre of Palermo and further out. The price is according to the economic capacity of each student, making it a very popular option among students.
