Welcome to my home away from home. I am renting out my writer´s nest in Budapest for several months a year. You, the guest, may be a digital nomad, an artist, a researcher or anybody, a non–partying person, who wishes to stay in Budapest for a longer period, minimum one month, preferably longer. There is generous space for two people. My place is located just steps away from green, generous and peaceful City Park (Városliget). At 50 meters distance, there is an Italian coffeshop and deli. There is a vegan place nearby, a kebab place as well.
My 41 sqm apartment is situated on the 2nd floor (2. emelet) of a classic, historic building from around 1900, with elevator. It has grand 3.80–meter–high ceilings which offer a sense of space and freedom. It faces two separate courtyards. This is a no–party place.
Wi–fi is fast. Being a writer´s place, it has a spacious desk and a comfortable ergonomic chair. A inverter–heatpump was installed in 2024. Two new movable panel heaters may be used where needed. Two beds, which may be put together or stay separate. Three comfortable chairs. A book shelf with books, in English, about Budapest and Hungary, novels and some poetry in English as well as Norwegian. A CD player with CDs and a good bluetooth microphone.
This space, my Hungarian "lung", comes with: bathtub, bed clothes, towels, washing machine, iron, fridge with freezer, electric oven. No microwave or dish–washer.
There is outstanding public transport with trolley–buses 70, 78, 74 and 75 nearby.
The trolley–buses take you to the Danube, the Parliament, the Freedom Square, the Keleti Railway Station, the Jewish Quarter and Tram 4–6 crossing the Danube. The historic Millenium Underground line 1 is nearby. In Budapest you may walk for hours and even get lost – and then find a know trolleybus or tram right there.
City Park is just two blocks away, offering running tracks, the famous Széchenyi thermal baths, The House of Music, museums and an immense green space.
The net income from this rental is fully dedicated to supporting artistic grassroots projects (folk music and painting with plant pigments) for children and young people in Bangladesh and the Bengali part of India. By staying at my place, you are directly contributing to making these grassroots efforts continue.
While I will be in Oslo or in South–Asia, my trusted person Csaba, graphic designer and musician, lives in the neighbourhood. He will hand over the keys.
You are within easy reach of both the historic M1 Millennium Underground line at City Park and the major transit hub at Keleti Railway
