Where is the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences located?

The campus is located in the north of the city, at the Nibelungenplatz station, and can be reached by public transport or by bicycle.

Nibelungenplatz Campus

The campus is home to all of the university's laboratories, libraries, sports facilities and student services. It offers 72 study programs divided into four faculties, which are:

• Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geomatics
• Engineering and Communication Sciences
• Law and Business
• Health and Social Work

Best neighbourhoods to live in near the Frankfurt UAS

In this section we recommend some of the best nearby neighbourhoods or areas, as well as some that are well connected to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences campus.

Nordend-West

This neighbourhood is very close to the Frankfurt UAS, about 10 minutes or less depending on the area, and is known for its young and lively atmosphere. It has cafés, restaurants, shops, parks and green areas.

Bornheim

Located northeast of the city centre, 15 minutes away from campus. It’s popular with students for its nightlife, markets, and good public transport links. The famous Berger Straße is one of the main streets with many leisure and shopping options.

Dornbusch

It’s 20 minutes away by public transport and ideal if you’re looking for a quiet and residential environment, with good metro and bus connections, as well as parks and essential services.

Eckenheim

A little further north, there’s another quiet residential neighbourhood with a family atmosphere and a more affordable cost of living. It’s easy to access the campus, with a 25-minute ride by public transport.

Student residences near the Frankfurt UAS

The Frankfurt UAS doesn’t have any residence on its campus, only the bedrooms offered by the Studierendenwerk Frankfurt. Keep in mind that these spaces are limited, but you can still request a spot. Also, you can search for residences or other accommodation from private providers.

Erasmus at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences

• During your Erasmus or exchange, you must meet the language requirements (German B1) when submitting your request.
• Some degrees require an extra certificate, either English B1 or B2, or Spanish B1 in the case of the double degree in German and Spanish in Mechanical Engineering.
• If you like, you can take language courses during your stay, either German, English or Spanish.
• You’ll be able to choose between several branches of study such as architecture, engineering, science, law, business or medicine, in an institution that puts all its effort into preparing your students for the job market, thanks to its practice-oriented programs.
• The university offers you to be part of the “Buddy Program” upon arrival in Frankfurt, which is designed to guide you through your first weeks in Germany with the help of current or former students. The programme makes it easier to settle in, deal with unexpected cross-cultural issues, and develop friendships outside your linguistic comfort zone.
• Both on and off campus a wide variety of art and culture is offered for free. This includes several exhibitions, a band, a choir, and free admission to 19 city museums and the zoo. Frankfurt UAS takes your recreation seriously!
