Here in Crete our yayas — our grandmas — were an inseparable part of our upbringing. They were the ones who taught us from an early age the ritual of welcoming a guest.
For them hospitality began the moment we heard that someone was coming to visit, not when someone arrived at the door. And it ended only when we knew they had returned safely home.
This simple but demanding way of thinking about hospitality has deep roots here. Over time we realized that welcoming people properly does not only open our homes, but also broadens our own horizons and those of the community around us.

Whether you’re here to work remotely, explore slowly, or simply live somewhere new for a while, this yaya’s nest is meant to feel like home.
Our apartments adapt to the way people actually live and work. With simple layout adjustments the space can function either as a one-bedroom apartment with a spacious living and working area, or as two large bedrooms with dedicated workspaces.
Before your arrival we’re happy to talk with you about how you prefer the apartment to be arranged and equipped. If something important for your routine is missing, we’ll gladly try to set it up or source it locally so it’s ready when you arrive. If you need information or help discovering the island — just ask.

Because hospitality in Crete is not really a service. It’s simply the habit of making a place work for the people who live in it.

The apartment is right next to Heraklion’s Historical Center in a safe and organized neighborhood with quick access to downtown and public transport.

Within walking distance you’ll find:

• pharmacies
• cafés and bakeries
• small local taverns with authentic Cretan cuisine

Whenever you feel like leaving the city for a while, the island offers quick escapes to beaches, mountains and traditional villages depending on the season — or simply your mood.

A coworking space is less than a two-minute walk away, close enough to become part of your daily routine while home remains your quiet place to live.
