Where is the University of Oviedo located?

This institution has a total of seven campuses, five in the city of Oviedo, one in Gijón and one in Mieres.

Campus El Cristo

It is located in the El Cristo neighbourhood, to the west of the centre of Oviedo, and is one of the largest campuses of the university. It is divided into the Campus del Cristo Alto and Campus del Cristo Bajo, although both are annexed. Between the two, the following faculties and schools are located:

Campus de Llamaquique

This campus is located in the centre of Oviedo, in the Llamaquique area. Here you will find the faculties of:

Campus de los Catalanes

It is located to the south of the centre of Oviedo, a few minutes walk from the city centre. Its name was given because it is where the former Catalans' estate was located. Classes in the School of Computer Engineering are held on this campus.

Campus Oviedo Centro

As its name indicates, it is located in the centre of Oviedo. It was created at the end of the 20th century and is home to the Faculty of Psychology and the School of Mines, Energy and Materials of Oviedo.

Campus de El Milán

Also known as the Campus of Humanities, it is located to the north of the centre of Oviedo, in the Pumarín neighbourhood. Here you will find the Faculty of Philosophy of the university.

Campus de Gijón

Located to the east of the centre of the city of Gijón (about 20 minutes by public transport), this campus is known as Campus de Viesques due to its proximity to that residential neighbourhood. Here you will find the following faculties and schools:

• School of Civil Marine Engineering of Gijón

• Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Social Sciences Jovellanos

• Faculty of Nursing of Gijón

Campus de Mieres

It is located in Mieres del Camino, about 30 minutes by bus from the centre of Oviedo. Here you mainly find the Polytechnic School of Mieres, which is focused on various engineering disciplines.

The Centre of Oviedo (Oviedo)

This area of the city is very convenient for all University of Oviedo students as, in addition to Oviedo Centre Campus, you will be able to reach all other UniOvi campuses on foot or even by public transport in a short time. Additionally, it is the liveliest area of the city, with different dining and leisure locations crowded by young people. From the centre of Oviedo, there is a very good connection to Campus de Mieres, which can be reached in half an hour by bus.

El Cristo, Monte Cerrao and Buenavista neighbourhoods (Oviedo)

The largest UniOvi campus is located in El Cristo, so it is very convenient if you are going to the El Cristo Campus. On the other hand, Monte Cerrao and Buenavista are located next to that neighbourhood, so you will be able to reach that same campus in a short time. Additionally, these three neighbourhoods are a few minutes walk from Llamaquique Campus and Catalanes Campus.

Pumarín and Teatinos (Oviedo)

These two neighbourhoods are very convenient if you are going to the Campus de El Milán. They are located north of the centre of Oviedo, and you will find several restaurants and bars frequented by students, as well as a shopping centre and green areas, to enjoy.

El Coto and Viesques (Gijón)

These two neighbourhoods in Gijón are ideal if you are going to Campus de Gijón, as you will be able to make the connection between both areas in a maximum of 10 minutes by bus. They are located east of the city centre, which can be reached quickly to enjoy the leisure of Gijón.

Student residences near the UniOvi

You will be able to apply for a place in two residences and two halls of residence of this institution. One residence is in Mieres, and the others are on the Campus de los Catalanes. Remember that you will also be able to search for accommodation in private residences situated in different parts of Oviedo and Gijón, which may be more conveniently located for you near the University.
