It’s the historic quarter and the old town of Poznan. It’s a 15-minute tram ride from the main PUT campus. It stands out for its Old Market Square (Stary Rynek), surrounded by colourful Renaissance houses and the majestic Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul (Bazylika archikatedralna Świętych Apostołów Piotra i Pawła w Poznaniu), one of the oldest in Poland. The district combines medieval charm with an active cultural life, full of museums, cafés, restaurants and historical monuments, such as the Poznan Town Hall, famous for its midday show.
This neighbourhood is 20 minutes from the city centre and half an hour from the Warta Campus. The University has some facilities like research laboratories and the rectorate in the same area. Wilda is a dynamic and growing neighbourhood south to the centre of Poznan, known for its mix of industrial and residential architecture from the early 20th Century. INteresting places include its local market, Rynek Wildecki, and its Park Jana Pawła II, an ideal place to spend the day with your friends.
It’s a large residential neighbourhood in the eastern part of Poznan, 15 minutes away from the main PUT campus. This area is known for its large flat blocks, with student accommodation options, built during the communist era in Poland. It’s one of the most populated areas of the city. In addition, Rataje has great green areas, such as the Park Rataje, and is well connected to the rest of Poznan by an efficient tram and a bus network.
The Poznan University of Technology has six public residences with more than 2,000 places for students in single, double or triple rooms. Four of these residences are located on the campus.
Poznan is a university city, so the offer of private residences is very wide. They are more comfortable than public residences, but also more expensive.
It offers a wide range of study programmes, mainly focused on Technical, Scientific and Engineering disciplines. Some of the specific fields are Computer Science, Data Science and Electrical Engineering.
The best neighbourhoods to live in are: Stare Mesto, the old city centre, full of students and life and 15 minutes from the campus; Wilda, a large neighbourhood in the south of Poznan with PUT facilities; and Rataje, close to the university and with affordable accommodation options.
The price of a private room in a student flat is between 1,000 and 1,500 PLN per month, about 220-330 €. A studio flat can cost around €500. Depending on the location prices may vary slightly.
