The Rovira and Virgili University (URV - “Universitat Rovira i Virgili” in Catalan) was founded in 1991. It’s a prestigious institution: in 2024 it was ranked number 112 in the “Young University World Ranking”. It’s the public university of southern Catalonia and every year it welcomes more than 15,500 students. In addition, a third of its master's and doctoral students come from other countries, creating a multicultural and diverse environment.

It’s in the town of Vila-Seca, which is located between Reus and Tarragona. You have the option of living in the town itself, and so you would be able to walk to campus in about 10 minutes. However, most students prefer to live in the city of Tarragona and travel there to go to class. This allows you to live in a city with more leisure and cultural offerings, taking approximately half an hour by bus to get from Tarragona to the campus.
The institution's Faculty of Tourism and Geography is located on this campus.
This campus is in the city of Tortosa, approximately an hour and a half by train from Tarragona. From the centre of Tortosa it takes around 10 minutes to walk to the faculty, so those who study on this campus choose to live in that city.
The Faculty of Nursing of the URV is based on the Terres de l'Ebre Campus.

The Rovira i Virgili University has two residences in the city of Tarragona: RESA Sant Jordi and Resa Tarragona Mediterrani. Both have single and double studios. Prices range from €470 to €700 per month. They are located just 10 minutes walk from the Tarragona campuses.
