Where is the University of Split located?

The university has a main campus and other buildings located in different parts of the Croatian city:

Main Campus (Kampus Sveučilišta u Splitu)

It is located in an area called Kampus, which is named after the development of this university campus. It is situated east of the centre of Split, about 15 minutes away by bus.

The following faculties have their classes on this campus:

  • Economy, Business and Tourism

It's worth noting that the following faculties are in the vicinity of the main campus:

  • The Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Mediterranean Agriculture are located opposite the aforementioned faculty, even closer to the main campus.

Best neighbourhoods to live in near UNIST

We suggest considering some of the following neighbourhoods:

Gripe

This is one of the most popular neighbourhoods chosen by students who have classes at the main campus of UNIST because it is located within a few minutes walk. Here, you will find supermarkets and other essential services, as well as numerous cafes, restaurants, and bars where you can socialise and relax in your free time. Additionally, Gripe offers a variety of museums and green spaces to visit.

Split Centre (Grad)

Living in the city centre gives you easy access to multiple faculties, such as the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Law. It is the liveliest area of Split, with numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, and cultural attractions. Furthermore, the proximity to the promenade and historical sites makes it an ideal location for students who want to make the most of their stay.

Firule

If you are studying at the Faculty of Medicine, Firule is a neighbourhood worth considering. It is located southeast of the city centre, near the Clinical Hospital Centre of Split. Firule is known for its pleasant residential atmosphere and proximity to the beach, making it an attractive option if you enjoy living near the sea.

Student residences near UNIST

The institution has two university residences where exchange students are accommodated, called "Hostel Spinut" and "Dr Franjo Tuđman (Campus)". However, the university itself suggests that you look for accommodation in private apartments, as the spaces in the residences are limited, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and tend to fill up quickly.
