Benimaclet

Benimaclet is one of the student areas of Valencia par excellence. This is because it has affordable rents, as well as a very active cultural and social life. For this reason, it’s one of the best neighbourhoods for students in Valencia.

In its streets, there’s a great variety of leisure options, bars, restaurants, and shops. However, Benimaclet doesn’t stand out for having many cultural sites to visit. (For those who like football, the Mestalla stadium is very close!)

It also doesn’t have a variety of green spaces to enjoy, but, depending on which area you’re in, you can reach the big gardens called Jardines del Real/ Viveros in a few minutes.

You can quickly reach university campuses like the Blasco Ibáñez Campus of the University of Valencia and that of the Polytechnic University of Valencia by tram or by foot. Benimaclet also has good connections with the rest of the city through metro and bus lines.

Ciutat Universitària (University City)

It’s a compact area that houses the main campus of the University of Valencia. It’s located between Benimaclet and Blasco Ibanez Avenue, one of the main avenues of the city. Because of this, it’s also a lively area during the day and it has good access to the leisure sites that are most frequented by students.

Just like Benimaclet, this neighbourhood doesn’t offer a variety of leisure sites or green spaces to enjoy. However, it’s very close to all the museums and cultural sites in the centre of Valencia.

One of the positive aspects of Ciutat Universitària is that it has a very good public transport connection with the rest of the city. It’s close to a metro stop and it has several bus lines.

Algirós

Algirós is another neighbourhood in Valencia that has a lively university vibe, being dynamic and full of life. This is, mainly, due to the fact that it houses the buildings of several universities (such as the Campus of Tarongers of the University of Valencia and the main campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia).

Many university residences are located here, which makes it another of the best neighbourhoods for students in Valencia.

Regarding restaurant sites, the largest number of bars and restaurants are usually on Avenida de Blasco Ibanez and the surrounding area, such as in the Plaza del Cedro and the Plaza del Xúquer. In addition, several of the area's nightclubs are located right there.

In Algirós, there aren’t many sites of cultural interest to visit either, and green spaces are usually limited to the outdoor spaces of Avenida de Blasco Ibanez.

This neighbourhood is located between the centre of Valencia and the beach, and has good public transport connection with both areas. In fact, it’s well connected through metro, bus, and tram lines.

Ruzafa

Also known as Russafa, it’s one of the most lively neighbourhoods, with an alternative, bohemian, and artistic atmosphere. It’s located in the district of L’Eixample, south of the historic centre of Valencia.

This neighbourhood has gained popularity thanks to its nightlife and its cultural offer, although in the past it had a negative reputation. Its streets are full of bars, art galleries, cafes, shops, pubs, and nightclubs. We’re sure you'll party here at some point!

Ruzafa is home to the Central Park, which has been refurbished in recent years and is a modern space with several gardens, ping-pong tables, and fountains. This makes it a space where students go to exercise, take walks or have picnics with friends.

Thanks to its central location, from Ruzafa you can get everywhere easily. In addition, it has several bus and metro lines that connect with different parts of the city.

El Cabanyal and La Malva-rosa

These two neighbourhoods are part of the district of Maritime towns (Poblats Marítims), the coastal district of Valencia. They are two ideal areas to live near the beach. Although it’s further from the centre, it’s suitable for those who prefer a quiet and more natural environment. Of course, in summer the vibe becomes much more lively, welcoming both locals and tourists who want to enjoy the good weather.

The port area is the one with the greatest leisure offer, with nightclubs, pubs, and seaside restaurants. However, keep in mind that it can be a little crowded in the warmer season.

This area has connections by bus, metro, and tram with the rest of the city, and you can quickly reach the campuses that are in Algirós.
