It is the smallest campus and the one furthest from the city of Faro. It is located in the Portimão area, next to the city's central train station. It functions as an extension of the Higher School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism.
We recommend that you consider some of the following areas to live in proximity to the institution:
The historic centre of Faro, known as "Baixa", is ideal for living near the institution’s Penha Campus. It is a charming place to live, full of cobbled streets, squares, shops, restaurants and bars. From here you can also reach the Gambelas Campus, so it is a neighbourhood highly chosen by students due to its lively atmosphere.
This neighbourhood is close to the Gambelas Campus and is a popular choice for students. It offers a variety of affordable accommodation that is halfway between that campus and the centre of Faro. It has a good public transport connection.
The Praia de Faro area of the island of Faro is one of the most popular areas for those who want to live near the beach and have easy access to the Gambelas Campus. It can be reached in just over 15 minutes by public transport. Although it is a little further away from campus, living on the Ilha de Faro gives you access to stunning beaches and a unique coastal environment.
There are usually not many student residences as such in Faro, but buildings consisting mostly of student flats are common, so that will be an option for you. In the case of the halls of residence at the UAlg, you should know that priority is given to scholarship students whose families live far away, so it can be difficult to receive a place.
