Highfield Campus

Avenue Campus

The School of Humanities is located on this campus. It's just a minute away from Southampton Common, in the north of the city.

University Hospital Campus

The University Hospital Campus is located at the northwest of the city. The hospital is very well connected by train to the centre of Southampton and the campus of Highfield. That's where medical students have most of their classes.

Waterfront Campus

It’s located at the National Oceanographic Centre in Southampton. There’s the biology school, where classes in marine and earth sciences are taught.

Winchester Campus

This campus is in the neighbouring city of Winchester. In it you can study Art, Fashion and Design.

Best neighbourhoods to live in near the Southampton

Most students choose the north of the city to look for accommodation. It offers a wide variety of options and is very well connected to the rest of the city. Many of the University of Southampton's campuses are located there, near the park Southampton Common. Downtown Southampton

Portswood

The area of Portswood is very popular among students. The main university residences are located there. It’s a quiet area that’s just a twenty-minute walk from the university. It has excellent communication with the rest of the city and many restaurants and shops.

Student residences near Southampton

The University of Southampton has seven public student residences, both in the downtown area and near the campuses. In the centre of the city are Archers Road and Mayflower. Near the campus area you can find City Gateway, Glen Eyre, Highfield Hall and Wessex Lane. All of them are less than 20 minutes walk away from campus.

As to private residences, you have many more options. Some of the best known are: Portswood House, Green Wood Court, Crescent Place and Richmond House. They are all located near the campuses but since they are private, their price is higher.

Exchange at University of Southampton
